What to do when the Dems call for cash

My disappointment with our Congress is deep and bitter. They caved on the war, then they caved on FISA. They are now making noises as if they will buy the administration's line on the escalation of the war (a.k.a., the "surge"), and Reid is saying that he doesn't want a fixed withdrawal date.
I need, really need, a way to rap our congressional leaders on the knuckles, grap them by the lapels and shout that they are blowing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a stand and fix our government.
The usual methods -- the emails, the calls, LTE -- apply, but a new one has dawned on me: the fundraisers.
Every week we get a call at home from the DCCC, the DSCC, or the DNC. They thank us for our past support, make the pitch, and ask for a donation.
Here's my suggestion: Every single one of us, every time they call, tell them that we're not giving one dime until Dems in Congress get their act together, show some spine, and start doing their darned job. Then give them an earful. Don't be abusive; the fundraiser is on our side, working hard to make this country a better place, and probably receiving some lousy wage. But make it clear that the one feeling he or she is hearing is anger -- at our leaders, at Reid, at Pelosi.
Then go to the website and donate the money you would have donated.
But if this is what happens time after time after time, the fundraisers will report it to their superiors. And believe me, that will get passed on all the way to the top. Our leaders may or may not listed to emails or consituent calls or bloggers -- but I'm quite sure that they will listen to their funraisers telling them that it's Armageddon.
Who knows? Maybe this could end the war.
