THIRD Alleged Homeland Security Pedophile?
Wed Apr 05, 2006 at 08:52:30 AM PDT
We all are familiar with the sad, strange case of
Brian Doyle, the Deputy Press Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security who has been arrested on charges of soliciting sex from a 14-year old online.
Kossack magggiemae has pointed out that another DHS offficial recently was apparently arrested recently in a televised pedophilia sting operation. I have not been able to find any more detail on this; perhaps someone else can chime in.
Now I see that Christy Hardin Smith at firedoglake has noticed a third recent case of alleged pedophilia by a DHS official.
Another Homeland Security official -- Frank Figueroa, special agent in charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Tampa -- faces trial this week on charges of exposing himself to a teenage girl last year at a mall. Figueroa, who has been suspended, pleaded not guilty.
This is from the Washington Post.
I wish to find no humor in this at all. This is frightening. Three pedophilia arrests of DHS officils in a short space of time. This is a rash of pedophilia arrests in this one organization.
Is something going on below the surface? Is there a serious problem with the culture at DHS? And as Christy asks, is there something wrong with the system of background checks at DHS?
